The village of Ruuhijärvi lies around the lake of the same name, about 40 hectares in size. The area is known for its fine hill landscapes and for good berry picking, hunting and fishing. You can enjoy all of these in the peace of nature.
The village also has an active hunting club. Riding is available at nearby Takapalo Pony Farm. There are trails for running and mountain biking in the hill landscapes, as well as an extensive road network for gravel cycling.
Pello winter sports centre Ritavalkea is only a 20-minute drive from the farm. At Ritavalkea you can enjoy downhill skiing and cross-country skiing: the municipality of Pello has almost 200 km of machine-maintained ski trails, some of which are also lit.
